What is SmoothEyeTM?

SmoothEyeTM is a new and exciting non-ablative Fotona SMOOTH® mode treatment for tightening of the periocular region and reducing the appearance of periorbital wrinkles. SmoothEyeTM significantly tightens loose and aging skin of the eyelids and periocular region with little-to-no downtime and maximum patient comfort, making this a very sought after non-invasive cosmetic procedure.

After a few treatment sessions, the result is improved skin elasticity, overall structure, and volume with significant wrinkle reduction.

How does it work?

Fotona SMOOTH® modality Er:YAG reduces wrinkles around the eyes in a non-invasive approach. The non-ablative Er:YAG SMOOTH® mode is applied to stimulate collagen remodeling and contraction. The entire periocular region is covered, including regions above, below and lateral to the eye. The therapy is very well tolerated by patients, with no discomfort described.

What to expect?

Fotona’s revolutionary non-ablative SMOOTH® mode treats the skin in a smooth, almost “feather-like” non-ablative manner, without bleeding and with precisely controlled temperature deposition. The optical energy is delivered in a unique, sub- second long pulse sequence which prevents temperature build-up at the surface and achieves homogeneous heating within several hundred micrometers of the tissue.

SMOOTH® mode is ideal for skin tightening. The intense, controlled surface tissue heating stimulates collagen remodeling and initiates neocollagenesis. The result is an overall improvement of wrinkles, laxity and elasticity in the treatment areas around the eyes.

HOW TO PREPARE FOR AN APPOINTMENT

To achieve the expected result, a course of treatment including three sessions will need to be completed, and a contrasting effect will be shown after the entire course of treatment is over.

IMPORTANT: Please stop using Retinol, AHA, ascorbic acid (Vitamin C) and other acids or skin care products containing photosensitive ingredients one week before the procedure to avoid irritating the skin and causing additional discomfort after laser treatment.

Certain Antibiotics (ex. ciprofloxacin, doxycycline, levofloxacin, ofloxacin, tetracycline, trimethoprim) can cause photosensitivity. They are commonly prescribed for treating acne. You are advised to have laser treatment two weeks after stopping your antibiotic treatment.

Before 3-5 days of the procedure, start paying extra attention to moisturizing around the eye area. If possible, you can use a hydrating mask daily to give your skin an extra  boost of hydration and prepare for the laser treatment.

Please do not wear ANY makeup or contact lens to your visit. Before your procedure begins, we will have to clean your face thoroughly and put numb cream on the target area and it will take around 30 minutes to work. This time is not included in the procedure duration listed on our website.

Please bring sun protection to your visit as you may need it after your visit.

After the procedure, you might experience dry eyes, dry skin, peeling, tightness, slight flushing, and mild pain. These are all natural responses of the skin. Please pay close attention to sun protection, moisturize properly, use artificial tears if needed, and do not rub your treatment area.

For each individual, the effect of this project has a certain timeliness. We will do our best to provide you with the most perfect service. There is no one-and-done project for skin care; please treat it rationally.
